History of Our Church

New Life is part of a larger body of believers known as the Evangelical Friends Church - Eastern Region. (For a more complete history of the EFC-ER please check out the EFC-ER website).

Specifically, New Life was established as an independent fellowship on May 18, 1997 and convened our first worship experience together on Sunday, May 25, 1997. For the next three years we were under the care and supervision of the Evangelistic, Pastoral and Extension Board of the EFC-ER. We received much insight, encouragement and guidance from these wonderful friends. After successfully completing several phases of consistent growth in the areas of people, finances and facilities, the E.P.& E. Board recommended to the Executive Board that New Life be duly recognized as a full member of the EFC-ER. On Monday, July 24, 2000 the Executive Board endorsed the recommendation to the delegate body of the 188th Annual Yearly Meeting of the EFC-ER. The recommendation was approved by the delegate body.

Humble Beginnings

From the 26 original members that helped us establish New Life to the presence we are in the community today, we are truly humbled by the hand of God that has guided us all along the journey. Since those humble beginnings New Life has experienced the same growing pains that most new Church fellowships encounter. However, God has been faithful and we are forever thankful for the opportunities & challenges of the past many years.

Growing Through Change

One of the most significant transitions we've endured to date was the building and occupation of our Ministries Center. God has entrusted us with a marvelous tool by which to engage the communities that surround us.

Looking to the Future

As we look to the future together we are still convinced that New Life is a movement that is purposed to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and the communities around us for God's glory & honor.
